Team USA reportedly came prepared and brought extra food to the Winter Games, including bags of pasta.

“Yeah, make sure we bring a lot of noodles, because they don’t have those in China.”

My favorite complaint is easily the one that it’s too cold. Homie… it’s the Winter Olympics and you’re on a mountain. What do you want China to fucking do about it?

and, even better, China is following the official IOC rules with respect to temperature, and people are complaining about wind chill. like, yeah, that sucks. wind chill can be brutal. but China is following the official guidelines, which don't account for wind chill, so...

so, the Sun article (lol) that this cites says

It is believed more than 360 Games participants, including 142 athletes and national staff, have tested positive upon arriving at Beijing Capital International Airport

which would indicate that these people didn't get Covid at the Olympics - they already had it. Maybe the phrasing is weird and they actually mean "at some point after arriving in China" rather than "immediately upon getting off the plane", but if it is actually the second one, then... what the fuck, you travel to a country while being a fucking diseased little plague rat and expect to be treated with respect? I would simply... not travel while carrying a deadly pathogen to one of the only countries taking this shit seriously, it's not that hard.

We already broke two destroyers, one nuclear attacked sub, and an F35 in the last 6 months. The only thing we've been fighting is our own incompetence. China can sink our entire pacific fleet with a handful of hypersonic missiles at any moment and there wouldn't be a thing we could do.

Wouldn't be too farfetched considering how fucking anal these athletes are being about everything. Some athlete from the US recently contracted COVID and can't compete, and the narrative has been that this guy is a complete shut-in, no way he could've contracted COVID. Yeah, ok, whatever

China had been boycotting it for decades prior and talking about how it was too political. Now it's about let's just do the games and not make it about politics. All it has done is produce garbage like these athletes bitching and moaning, while the propaganda machine keeps churning out the le China authoritarian genocidal regime bullshit. It's all too bread and games for my liking

It seems like there are real complaints to be made about food -- these are high performance athletes and this is an athletic competition. Food is really important for a good olympics. They should have done better there.

However, lumping that in with complaints about quarantine procedures (they seem good), cold weather, and a skier falling on the hill? Ridiculous.

did you see the thing about Usain Bolt apparently eating 1000 mcnuggets at the 2008 Beijing Olympics because it was the only food he could trust? Imagine how fast the man could have run if he wasn't on a 10 day diet of some of the shittiest food known to man!

The complaints I believe are coming from specifically the quarantine hotels for those who tested positive. The village canteen and various other hotels seem fine.

There is a massive whining gap that will takes DECADES of middle class PMC liberalism for the Chinese to catch up.
