Fuck, can someone please tell me that they can’t be THAT stupid, right? They know they’d get fucked if they wage a war on Iran, right? RIGHT?!

they’d get fucked if they wage a war on Iran

From an accelerationist point of view, it's a pro-war argument.

Oil would jump to over $500 a barrel and perhaps, as the conflict drags on, to over $750 a barrel. Our petroleum-based economy ... would grind to a halt.

critical support to accelerationist hawks in their goal to eradicate the fossil fuel market

Iran knows the road to victory is creating as many dead soldiers as possible. Double edged sword right there. Americans do not have the stomach for mass casualties, but seeing Iranians cheering in the street after rinsing an aircraft carrier is gonna lead to mass calls for Brandon to use nukes. What a grand fucking failure.

wonder if american nuclear-powered carriers have reliable autoshutoffs in event of sinking or if the gulf of oman is going to be radioactive until 2200

Bush couldn't do it, Cheney couldn't do it, McCain couldn't do it - but who could? Motherfucking Joe Brandon, you're welcome.

The same libs who said Trump is bad because he'll start a pointless and terrible war are about to call you a traitor for not supporting this pointless and terrible war.

You're going to see headlines like "Biden is going to do what Trump couldn't: Bring Iran to Heel".

Looking forward to liberals employing the 2004 Republican Party talking point that it is irresponsible to change political leadership in the middle of a war.

The Dem line of attack on Trump 2024 will be about how Trump will end the war before it's finished, about how Biden will keep the war going for at least four more years and that's why you must vote for him.

Once upon a time there might have been some Kissinger ghouls telling them that this is not in the national interest of the US. I don't think they're around any more. I really hope Iran can get their hands on some nuclear weapons soon.

It might be enough to be able to deliver it to Israel. I think the US considers Israel a part of its territory to the point that that might give them pause.

Then we get to find out if the Israeli's are suicidal enough to nuke Iran in a first-strike. Which... Probably yeah, they are.

The ruthless but ultimately competent dickheads are gone, replaced by less competent and more ideological neoconservatives who are also now gone. The only thing left is the death drive

Saudi Arabia, with Chinese help, has built a plant to process uranium ore and acquired ballistic missiles.

Iran would use its Chinese-supplied anti-ship missiles, rocket and bomb-equipped speedboats and submarines, mines, drones and coastal artillery to shut down the Strait of Hormuz, the corridor for 20 percent of the world's oil and liquified gas supply.

Really putting the harm reduction arguments to the test here.

One of the darkest outcomes would be if Biden started a war in Iran, and it made him popular.

Always worth pointing out: Iran is not, in fact, building a nuke (though they should) and they haven't been for at least twenty years, if ever, and everyone, even Mossad, admits this.
