I think there are two different perspectives of these things, because I know that when I was a teenager I wanted to have sex with all sorts of people. My desire for sex back then isn't especially different than it is right now.
I still think it's weird when someone much older goes after someone much younger, but like age of consent isn't just about the older person.
Different people are different, so setting a specific age is always going to set the age too high for some people, and too low for others. Age of consent is always going to be a compromise as a result. Like I've met plenty of people in their mid-late twenties who were so emotionally immature I'd feel like a creep dating them, even when they were older than me.
People should be allowed to have sex when they're younger, it's pretty natural. The problem comes when you have older individuals grooming them or using their naivete to suit their own goals. Wether that be for pedophilic reasons or pornographic ones (18+).
I don't really see how blanket bans would work, except for the lower end and maybe if there was age gap clauses. It would be case by case thing for the over 16 instances.

eh, I campaigned for a simplification of consent laws to make it equal for people of all genders (before it was 16 unless it's anal then it's 18 and also if one of you is 16 theres some leeway, now it's just 16)

When I was a teenager, I definitely looked up the Romeo & Juliet laws for my state so I could know who it was legal for me to date. (I don’t know why, no one wanted to date me). This was from the perspective of me being the younger one though.

I agree with you; the age of consent is not just about power disparities, but also about how malleable is the mind at young age and how early experiences can affect a child's sexuality and personality growing up; Given that relationships even between adults can be toxic or abusive; the point of the age of consent in this case would be to make sure the emotional and intellectual maturity of the individuals in a sexual relationship would be enough not to leave scarring sequels for the developing child.

Which would be an actual present-day moral crisis, which you'd notice and call attention to if you actually got there from moral reasoning, instead of from trying to come up with a hypothetical future where you're allowed to fuck children.
