"It seems that the offer of a cheap burger, combined with what will inevitably become a collectible toy, has driven customers into a frenzy, with orders coming in faster than restaurants can serve them. “The most difficult aspect of this promo for the crew is the sheer volume of these meals that we are selling,” one worker told Kotaku via Reddit DMs. “Most stores I have seen have sold out of either the special boxes, Big Mac buns, or toys. Some places it’s more than one of these.”

This is an exhaustingly predictable pattern. 1) Company does quirky thing. 2) Company intentionally understocks the thing they're selling, 3) company gets two huge free rounds of press for their trouble. This isn't even the first time McDonald's has done it - so I don't for one fucking second believe that they understocked by accident.

Yeah that whole incident was terrible for the Rick and Morty fandom, but a huge win for McDonald's. Imagine how many thousands of people around the country showed up, waited in line, and bought something else even though they had run out of sauce - and how many thousands more ended up going to McDonald's in the following weeks because people were all talking about it.

Excuse me sweaty, only people with large disposable incomes are allowed to enjoy things, those kids should hustle grind harder if they want a happy meal 💅

It doesn't matter how clever, how ruthless your business's founder is -- eventually, they will retire. Successors have only one metric to measure against -- raw profit. And the pressure to show greater and greater short term profits will only compound. Every business is destined to end in a blind race to the bottom; to eat its own foundation.

I agree with what you are saying, but, boxes.

These boxes were designed specifically for the Adult Toy meal. It would have cost nothing extra to ensure the stackability of the said boxes. Regular Happy meal boxes are stackable, why mess with the stackanomics.

They haven’t had to design new packaging in years. I’m sure whoever created the original happy meal boxes is long retired by now.

Imma be honest. This is chud culture war shit. I already seen my chud father mocking adult happy meals with his chud friends on chud facebook. It's only a matter of time before it becomes another tucker carlson bit.

Chuds are going to spin this to be that men are being emasculated. Chuds are going to that people don't want to work anymore because they're infantalized. The usual "weak men make hard times" shtick.

Carpenter of heaven here. Chick-fil-a is going to offer a Man Meal that remasculates men. It will include a gun-themed toy and three tendies. Chuds will treat these like a religious totem.

I like in the south. When it was revealed that Chickfila donated to anti-lgbt campaigns, local churches were organizing flash mobs at chicfila to endorse the homophobia.

They still do that in Colorado. I recently saw a group of cowfuckers waving various yeehaw flags outside of one. Treat-hungry ghosts.

It wasn't just anti-lgbt. There was some group in Africa that was openly and loudly calling for the murder of lgbtia+ people.

Chicken flavored with gunpowder and ten rounds of 5.56 (a 10$ value!) In every man bucket.

I kind of doubt this. Borgers are already marketed as a manly product, which is why chuds are reacting this way. Chuds are watching the holy big mac, an american icon, being marketed as something for infantile adults and something breaks in their brain.

Chuds don't see corporations as profit seeking forces. Chuds see corporations as sacred benevolent institutions which act to serve humanity as a whole. Which is why chuds always disparage the borger flipper but praise the borger.

McDonalds is chud church. When chuds see that their most sacred borger is allowed to be desecrated, they perceive it as a corruption of society as a whole.

Remember that story where some franchise tried to sell a 1/3lb burger to upstage the McD's 1/4 pounder but it flopped bc americans can't do fractions and thought 1/3 was smaller than 1/4?

lmao not surprised at all to hear that. The people buying these in masses are probably the libertarian type that will try to sell them for ten times what they're actually worth.

Cactus Plant Flea Market is one of those limited run streetwear brands, and designed them like that to be quirky and sell $150 hoodies.
