A good reminder that the issue of Palestinian liberation is such a morally unambiguous and uncomplicated issue that you can get pretty much anyone to be supportive of it so long as their brain hasn’t been fried by cable news or they’re just flat out racist to Arab people. That a bunch of scientists - who should at least have some level of curiousity in their hearts - support Palestine isn’t hard to believe. I’ve convinced my dumbass, chud, evangelical parents to at least agree with a 2 state solution back to the 1967 borders. I actually got a libertarian friend to openly say he thinks Hamas is pretty cool and right, and that’s because he knew nothing of the history and I took 10 minutes to explain it.
I bet literally everyone on this website knows more about the history and the current situation more than everyone in their social circle who isn’t already pro-Palestine by orders of magnitude. While some people are likely going to want to avoid talking to you about it because they know you know so much more, I think you will find that many more people you have a personal relationship with are actually very open to what you have to say. Because they know you know your shit.
