aw yeah, decked out in future armor, just like a cop ought to be. Everyone loves it when the state monopoly on violence is mixed with celebrity worship :lt-dbyf-dubois:

Even if this is a bit, I am quite exhausted with all these freaking dweebs thinking the best way to modernize Superman is to try and make him some weird sky tyrant

Have him go after a bald billionaire who's trying to sell robots to InterGang, then have him toss a crooked landlord into the back of a garbage truck

Take him back to his roots where he was just a strong guy who tormented rich bastards.

As much as I hate Man of Steel and what Snyder did...there really was a golden nugget of an idea in that whole enterprise about treating Superman as more of an Alien invasion story than as straight superhero movie.

I actually think you could do a really solid Climate change and anti capitalism allegory origin with Superman today. The framework is seriously all there. Jor-El and his guild warning the rich bougiesie about the impending collapse of Krypton for decades while they keep on plowing forward into their own doom. Kal-El being sent to earth to show them a better way. Even the whole imagery of the Kent farm has an opportunity if it gets bought out at some point. You can really reinvent this character in a big way while going all the way back to his roots at the same time.

This feels like a joke there's no way someone actually thinks a man impervious to basically everything needs armour

To deeply insecure fash and fash-adjacent dudebros, masculinity is about being as emotionally unavailable and militarized as possible. Smiling, looking at ease, and even eye contact are all gaaay. :frothingfash:

As an indestructible man, Superman needs to wear tacticool kevlar armor and a helmet with a NVG mount

Why the hell would superman wear armour? Honestly if I was superman and impervious to everything except kryptonite I wouldn't even bother getting changed. I'd just fly in wearing jeans and a tshirt or whatever.
