I'm just trying to be me. Sometimes things like this make me want to scream and cry out of frustration. Others they radicalize me even more and make me push harder in convincing trans people to fucking arm themselves. One day my people will be free from the oppressive shackles of cis-heteronormativity.

Edit: This book will only perpetuate violence against trans and non-binary people. Get armed. Our oppression will not end until we end it. 🥰

Today is one of those days. Try to convince every trans/non-binary person you know to buy a gun. 😊

I do not understand the drive that makes people take their bigotry and make it the focal point of their entire personality and life.

Like, bitch, you have billions of fucking dollars. Why can't you just enjoy your life and fuck off forever?

Seriously, she and Notch are basically the same at this point: billionaires who've spent their "post getting wealth" lives punching down.

Imagine being able to do anything you want, and you choose to spend it being cruel to those beneath you.

Why can’t you just enjoy your life and fuck off forever?

If you were capable of fucking off, feeling empathy, or had any cap on your greed/desire to impose your will, you wouldn't have made it to a billion dollars. I'm reasonably sure you're also unable to enjoy things because surely, somewhere around 3 or 5M you would begin to enjoy your wealth and opulence instead of gobbling up more.

EDIT: Honestly, 99% of the world is going to enjoy $50k being more money than they can easily conceptualize.

to be fair, it's not like JK or notch made their money by successfully running an empire of a business. they had a single product that they cashed out for.

Normally, I'd agree, but being an author/squatting on your own IP is arguably a barely evil way to earn a billion dollars. I don't even think she tried. She could've made 5mil if like half a million people bought her book, and is like 100 times that easy.

The only surplus value she exploited was like maybe publishers, editors, and movie royalties. Plenty of people do that and then go on to lead pretty cool lives, or at least don't become so fucking vile. You don't need to be evil to write a children's book, usually the opposite.

Like you'd think someone with that kind of imagination could think of all kinds of ways to do awesome shit with their money. Why even fucking touch Twitter?

selling a popular book (or IP based on it) is probably one of the least exploitative ways to make money. it's basically pateron but with a publisher. and one of the few robust non-capitalist institutions we have pretty much all around the country are public libraries, where you can borrow just about any book completely for free.

Her invention of one will only perpetuate the societal hatred of trans and non-binary people that much more. This will undoubtedly result in trans people being killed. If you're in the states and haven't done so already, arm yourself, comrade. O7

So she's found a way to monetise pandering to the transphobes, stirring up hate and reinforcing hateful tropes. Nasty piece of work.

That's what really gets me. She's so rich! A billionaire! Even if it's one of your "issues", I cannot imagine spending one second being mad on twitter if I was a billionaire, instead of eating cuttlefish jizz or whatever

It's not even for the money. This is a crusade for her now. Just another powerful bigot who has decided to make their life's work spewing hate because someone once told them they should maybe shut up.

her private detective protagonist, Cormoran Strike

...I don't know whether to cringe or laugh hysterically. This is like naming your American soldier character Dick Truck or Eagle Hulk or something. (I know the series has been going on for a while, but it's news to me.)

That plus her obsession with making trans characters evil just feels like over the top satire. Infamous TERF/FART writes shitty TERFy book after her defenders claim she's misunderstood and actually loves trans people and just wants to express herself freely or whatever. Whyyyyy?
