For me it depends on how deep they are in the culture war stuff. I can forgive someone for being curious or a more casual fan that might not be completely aware. If they address the controversy immediately when playing it and go on some rant about the "wokies forcing you to bend to their will" then yeah I'm done. That's a sign of a bigger issue brewing underneath.

I watched Twitch for a while and generally gravitated towards streamers with maybe a dozen people watching. It's kind of like sitting behind a friend and watching them play in their living room.
Most of the video game content I watch is from people based in the UK, so I was worried that like half of them were going to come up. I was pleased to see that not only have none of them played it, but in fact a member of their group is the one who made the page
