I think they're fascists, they're not feminists. They will agree to even banning abortion if they think it creates conditions that would be hostile to trans people (british fascists have been clear about this). Their fascists goals are more important than any feminism.

Mixed + women is the reasonable way to go. You have a women’s league but if a woman wants to challenge men she can go for it. Basically just giving women multiple options.

When they introduced the women's skeet shoot competition in '96, I think they also made the number of targets slightly smaller, so that you couldn't directly compare the results between men and women's groups.

It's probably like in chess, how there's open tournaments for all genders, and women's tournaments to encourage more girls to participate.

From what I've seen of Chess GMs, they largely seem like really obnoxious people. Challenger rank players in League of Legends seem like more pleasant people on average than Chess GMs.

There's been a lot more attention on this shit since things have gone more mainstream but it was hella bad back in the day with sexual harassment of women players.
so i do think maybe that's a point, but i'd counter by pointing out that most of that toxicity that they will be subjected to (beyond Le WoMeN beAt tHe mEN's team coomplaints that will inevitably arise) will come from the normal online matchmaking service that already is not doing any sort of gendered separation. gamers are fucking toxic, i'm just not sure that beyond having women's teams (which i think is great, i just don't see why they should be pushed into their own league) there's much that can be directly done to protect them.

for sure, so at the end of the day, women should have the interaction with the sport that they want and think is best. i can't say what would actually be that. i just object to the notion that there must be women's esport leagues for some reason because the normal justification for that given by athletic sports is a notion of roughly bimodal human sexual characteristics (which is laughable anyway, but y'know)

They want to encourage participation to make up the gap that was created by the scene being so unwelcoming to women. The gap is created by a history of lack of support for women in the genre and also because women are just not encouraged to be competitive so they don't tend to double down as hard as the men do when it comes to winning at all costs. This creates a gender gap, and once there's a gender gap you get an issue with women not seeing a purpose in participating at all because it's discouraging. So things like this exist to provide a way to play competitively without that discouragement and in an environment that's more welcoming.
This is very damning information, because it tells us beyond a shadow of a doubt that they don't give a Hell about the physical concerns they've been raising all along. It is now and always has been about extending their bigotry into the public commons. So fucking obvious. And so fucking sad.
