I like to watch low-budget movies and laugh at the bad effects or acting, this is especially true for low-budget horror films.
Bubba Ho-Tep because it feels like a rant that got turned into a screenplay.
I love that movie. Perfect cast. Wacky premise. Entertaining as hell.
Silent Hill 3D Revelations is pretty bad/good
The Room is a modern classic of course
Friday the 13th part 3 is great too, another 3D horror film. There’s something inherently funny about the way 3D horror movies are shot
Glen or Glenda is great, especially with the context of having seen the Ed Wood biopic, though fair warning, I haven’t seen it for a while but there’s some trans stuff that was extremely progressive for the time that probably hasn’t aged well.
House (1985), it's weird, it's funny, the villain is the Vietnam War
The sequels go into absolute Bananatown territory, but the first one straddles that line between horror and comedy without ever really seeming sure what it's going for
A year before he was in Fellowship of the Ring, Sean Aston starred in a Die Hard knockoff called Icebreaker. He's a ski bum who has to save a resort in Vermont from Bruce Campbell and his band of terrorists.
Slab Bulkhead, Fridge Largemeat, Punt Speedchunk, Butch Deadlift, Bold Biglank, Splint Chesthair, Flint Ironstag, Bolt Vanderhuge, Thick McRunfast, Blast Hardcheese, Buff Drinklots, Drunk Slamchest, Fist Rockbone, Stump Beefknob, Smash Lampjaw, Punch Rockgroin, Buck Plankchest, Stump Chunkman, Dirk Hardpeck, Rip Steakface, Slate Slabrock, Crud Bonemeal, Brick Hardmeat, Whip Slagcheek, Punch Sideiron, Grissle McThornbody, Slate Fistcrunch, Buff Hardback, Bob Johnson (Oh wait...), Blast Thickneck, Crunch Buttsteak, Slab Squatthrust, Lump Beefbroth, Big McLargehuge, Smoke Manmuscle, Beat Punchbeef, Hack Blowfist, and Roll Fizzlebeef
These names were actually the first interaction I ever had with MST3k. An American exchange student referenced them without saying where he got it from.
And all the spaceship battles were just recycled footage from Battlestar Galactica.
I will devour David and Goliath movies and short films lmao. my favorite one so far is from 2016.
this entire movie is a bunch of dudes getting hot and sweaty for God and you're going to see every muscle contraction that He designed while you're watching.

especially true for low-budget horror films.
Chuck and Dale vs Evil (2010). Nice horror comedy
Pretty sure it's actually called Tucker and Dale vs. Evil for anyone looking for it
Nothing But Trouble is a movie I make people watch and everyone hates it but me. It's directed by Dan Aykroyd, and Dan Aykroyd plays an impossibly old disgusting judge living and working in a labyrinthine house in a landfill over a mine fire. John Candy's a cop, Chevy Chase is a banker who gets pulled over and processed in the court. Tupac makes an appearance. I guess twisted disgusting dysfunctional people eating horrid food in a bizarre house reminds me of my family.

I feel like the age of these movies is well over by now. Mystery Science Theater 3000 killed them, then the internet bludgeoned the corpse into unrecognizability. We all know what movies will come out and they are reviewed to death by status-seeking journalists. There are no more obscurities to unearth, no more dumb movies to laugh at. All we will get from now on is wink-and-a-nod "bad movies" like Snakes on a Plane.
you sure? movies are still hard to make, and there's definitely still people making them who don't know what they're doing.
There are no more obscurities to unearth,
neoliberalism is about extracting new forms of value to gain social capital, like finding rare b-movies to show to your friends to impress them?
It has significantly more to do with the fact that movies are an industrial process made by committee favoring guaranteed massive returns and only allowing very few directors and writers in than it does to do with mst3k.
Robot in the Family is utterly incomprehensible and filled with lots of shouting. It comes highly recommended. @Dirt_Owl watched it with me on Cytube forever ago so maybe they can vouch for it too.
Note: the robot in question calls his inventor "daddy".
This is a must-watch film.
