I main the bug stick, because it comes with free bug. But before they were introduced I dabbled between gunlance and switch axe
I've been playing since PS2 and despite how many times I've tried to mix it up, I always end up back on the hammer. Give me a monster's face to bust up and I'm happy.
Gunlance gunlance gunlance. I've tried a bunch of weapons. The bow is fun and I actually don't mind it much, the longsword is fine I guess.
But slowly plodding along the battlefield blowing the monster up and acting as a brick wall is ultra satisfying and I love it
Greatsword and lance are the two things I've enjoyed the most. The greatsword for how cerebral and visceral it feels, and the lance because you're just constantly doing shit and reacting to stick to the monster, with a better moveset but similar performance to the gunlance.
I like the Charge Blade, I can sometimes even remember how to do the shield combo.
as i have said before, i am a dedicated greatsword chad. everyone else is little babies, except for the hammer gigachads who have the right to call me a little baby
I don't play monster hunter but my guess is big fucking hammer

The pole with a blade on each end. Stupid picture doesn't include the bug. Look up 'insect glaive' if you want to see better pics of it. Also hell yeah the Hammer is cool as shit but can't cut tails, or else I'd use it.
