Keanu Reeves got anywhere near the top, unless he’s been doing significant work outside the “Wholesome Breathtaking 100 Chungus Keanu 4 President” gamer shit, idk.

Being one of the best movie stars for about 3 decades doesn't count for anything in your book?

If you think Keanu is just a meme you need to go watch some John Wick ASAP.

Good point. If it's an internet poll, then it already skews towards a very specific demographic. And if the answers varied enough, then someone could probably have ended up in the top 10 with a bare fraction of the vote.

If you look at just China, Xi didn’t come in first place. This guy did. I had to google him to find out who he was, good stuff! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yuan_Longping

We have someone like that in the Swedish left party too, and he's leaving soon :( (for Vietnam, based?) Highest approval rating of all party leaders, it's almost as if left wing leaders have a tendency to be genuine and nice people , also reminds me of the appeal bernies personality has

Right? He made me want to do that sometime, didn't even know that was possible, never been to Asia and don't want to fly those distances, but most of all train trips are great

Look, I don't disagree that India is sliding into fascism fast, but one girl you dated is not necessarily an accurate representation of over a billion people. Especially an outlier whose family is rich enough to send her to study overseas.

What I'm saying is that you don't want to be the guy going "my asian girlfriend says..."

It wasn't just her, it was also her family and friends who were all straight down the line die hard Modi Gujrati supporters.

Idk, I see how utterly unpopular Trump is in America and how yeah he's president but most Americans detest the guy then I see India and i dunno they seem pretty into Modi all the way down from what I could tell

That's not what happened lol. He paid for both apartments, then the developer who sold them to him did not do the right paperwork, and so the apartments are being claimed as assets owned by the original owner who has a payment lawsuit with another real estate developer and Chan never owned them in the first place legally. The court ordered the assets of the original owner to be seized to pay off the other real estate developer, and ruled that those assets included the apartments. Like it's a legal dispute between two huge real estate developers.

Chan is now as of a couple weeks ago filing a separate lawsuit that he does have legal ownership of those apartments. Whatever happens, he's probably getting money back one way or another.

What's the deal with Dalai Lama? Didn't think he was too controversial but I don't know what his politics are. And yeah I don't care that Keanu has been circlejerked to no end, I agree he actually seems like a good person and isn't out of place here

Thank you, I think what matters is his views, not the lamas before him, and him rejecting the traditional ways of the lamas and giving up his political power sounds good to me.

In theory, that does sound good.

On the other hand, a convoy of aid for the Venezuelan people also sounds good. In theory.

He's made a lot of statements on making a synthesis of Buddhism and Marxism. He says he's not a Leninist and the main reason he dislikes the USSR and China and other ML revolutions is that in their zeal to destroy the ruling class they lost their compassion. It's not the worst take.

He's stated: Of all the modern economic theories, the economic system of Marxism is founded on moral principles, while capitalism is concerned only with gain and profitability. (...) The failure of the regime in the former Soviet Union was, for me, not the failure of Marxism but the failure of totalitarianism. For this reason I still think of myself as half-Marxist, half-Buddhist.

Kinda share his sentiment as a less totalitarian socialist but not his conclusion with the buddhist-marxism if that means he wants a non-secular state. Thx

He doesn't as far as I know, like he's made lots of comments promoting complete secular ethics for politics and regularly makes comments on the need for secular ethics in education. Like there's some quote where he says we need secular ethics because we face man made problems.

    True Story:

I was trying to sign up for one of Baidu's services and because I am a rather creatively bankrupt individual I did not know what to use as an username, so I thought back to things I had seen during the day and one of them was a video of Xi inspecting a village's poverty alleviation program, and so I wrote something along the lines of 'I Love You Xi' and the system proceeded to tell me that the username was too common and I needed to add a number or something to distinguish it.
