Every two days a new thread with hundreds of comments of a bunch of liberals doing the same fucking talking points about the election. It doesn't even fucking matter but so many people are just so enthusiastic to be hand-wringing or smug or whatever their preferred flavor of insufferable is, presumably mostly because they've been acculturated by liberal media to the idea that Trump is the apocalypse despite the fact that we already saw how Trump bumbles his way through a term!
It's just so bad, you can't talk about it anywhere there without someone leaping down your throat to say the same shit you've heard before.
Trump is the apocalypse, and the solution is to vote for the party that says he's the apocalypse while doing nothing about him
Yeah I'm only on .ml so I can argue with libs.
I just hope that after the elections the libs will become less inflamed and settle down. (I doubt it but I can hope!)
The only settling these libs are planning on doing is in the West Bank.
That's completely unfounded and unfair. Some of them plan on settling the Gaza strip.
I still feel bad about when I caught a ban for trying to joke with you on there.
Lol, they'll blame us for the Harris defeat. Maybe once Trump comes into power they'll turn their hate towards him and get a little progressive again for a while. Only to learn nothing and revert back to their reactionary ways next election cycle. The silver lining is, each time they do this stupid bullshit, the American left gains a few more comrades.
thats why this is the only place I shitpost. That makes me the only real communist here and you all are liberals.
Mali, they bought the domain from the country of Mali, i think
I mean, despite being a country code, I don't think that specific country code was picked on accident knowing that the devs are comrades.
Userbase mostly comes from the Reddit exodus from a few months ago. I think they still managed to keep a relatively decent line against the liberal flood, compared to .world and .ee, but they definitely still have a huge lib problem.
The devs are comrades, but the fact that .ml domains were free was more important to the decision.
Tbh ive spent a lot of time in more nonpolitical spaces online. The energy to engage in politics in any online place is just more than its worth outside of leftwing spaces.
Like tbh this is the first time in my life where Id say public discourse in gaming and sports is far more productive, positive and less personal than politics. We know where everyone stands at this point and if you still support genocide then thays a scar on your soul that you'll have to reckon with.
I subscribe to nearly all the Hexbear and Lemmygrad comms, and my view is subscribe. It saves my mental health.
It's like r/roi all over again... or even r/cth
What is so amusing is that I just saw a .world post where they were complaining that .ml is too hardcore left and they were getting banned for their liberal opinions. One poster actually said they prefer hexbear users because despite being obnoxious they’re more civil and honest. That was quickly followed by a reply about how all the hexbears had alts on .ml that they did their real dirty work on so as to protect the mothership from defederation. I honestly have no idea what they’re talking about though, I’ve seen so many bland lib posts about how we all must hold our noses and enjoy the genocide on .ml comms lately, I just assumed it was a mostly lib instance or something (I assume the .ml is for Marxist Leninist though?
Edit: saw below the .ml is Mali country code, not Marxist then. Also I’m a hexbear who has a .ml alt like they say, but I never do real posting anyway, and if I was to start, I would for sure use my hexbear because how else would I get credit on the internal shitposting leaderboard?
I kinda like being defederated tbh. I dont know exactly which ones lemmygrad isnt federated with because i have only ever had an account here but i imagine theres a lot of nonsense i manage to avoid by being here lol.
Probably is a good idea. My ml feed is very similar to Hexbear, just has lib stuff like .world and some beehaw stuff. I find it useful to find articles basically, which is what I used Reddit for back in the day. But conversation wise it’s goddamned wasteland of horrible takes and smugness, so yeah, not really missing anything.
Yeah, I mean, I'm of course talking about an alt that I have on .ml, a lot of us have alts or such is my impression, but that's just because Hexbear is one of the most widely-defederated instances out there that isn't, like, an attempt to do 4chan or something. You can see a lot more with a .ml account, even though that unfortunately includes .world users, who are like 70% of who I am complaining about (some of them, I'm sure, are good people).
I get that there are a lot of gTLDs, but I am surprised many people think ml stands for Marxist-Leninist instead of the more likely option of being a national TLD. Yeah, there's su for the Soviet Union, but it's hard for me to imagine a TLD referring to anything remotely left in a capitalist dominated world. It costs $185K (soon to be $227K) just for the application alone to create a new gTLD, and it costs several thousand per quarter along with a transaction fee per registered domain after 50,000 being registered to keep it available. Plus the application process is restricted to organizations, not individuals. It's hard to imagine ml being bought and created by a Marxist-Leninist organization when that amount of money would be going to something so trivial and pointless instead of being used towards any activist project.
our democratically elected government
The US is a democracy in the same way as when only land-owning, white men could vote, or as Israel is now.
I'm sure the people who it benefits love to call it "democracy".
You should have learned by now that representative democracy is not a meaningful practice, given its track record of almost no successes.
Also, you literally do coups - including against democratically elected governments - all the time, and don't have an issue with that.
The implication behind "democracy" is an equal vote democracy, which the US is objectively not. Which was the whole point of my comment. You can call us a democracy in the same way a slave state is a democracy if you're white. Our representative elections are not democratic, and individual wealthy people have an outsized vote over millions of people.
You didn't understand what I was saying, are too much of a moron to understand that, and think that it's me who isn't smart enough.
I would ask you, "when was the last time you voted for a policy and got it?" which would be "never" for me, but I don't know your politics, so I'll just point out that 70% of Americans want single-payer healthcare but most politicians side with the insurance companies for some mysterious reason, and there's nothing we can do about it as an electorate because our only option is to vote "lesser evil" every few years or boycott the elections and watch other people vote lesser evil.
If you've ever heard of ALEC, then you should already know exactly who this "representative" "democracy" functionally represents.
really awesome system you got there where you spin a roulette wheel to determine the make-up of the 9 god kings who decree all laws and are appointed for life, and it's entirely random who gets appointed based on when they die
definitely not an inherent issue with your entire system, just a single bad election to that fascist Drumpf ruined everything
Marx grasped this essence of capitalist democracy splendidly when, in analyzing the experience of the Commune, he said that the oppressed are allowed once every few years to decide which particular representatives of the oppressing class shall represent and repress them in parliament!
[...]
Democracy for an insignificant minority, democracy for the rich — that is the democracy of capitalist society.

you're embarrassing yourself
Everyone is biased, dipshit. Including you and the sources you get your news from. Not understanding something as fundamental as this makes your smugness even more embarrassing than it already is. Keep it up.
Yeah I'm certain David Van Zandts personal vibes-based website is completely unbiased.
Edit: sorry comrade, didn't realise you weren't the same doofus as the other guy
Ah yes, the notoriously not-biased fact checkers. /s
EDIT: HAHAHAHA. They have this rating for some countries, and you want to claim that they are not biased? HAHAHAHA
MBFC’s Country Freedom Rank: TOTAL OPPRESSION
EDIT 2: HAHAHA. Their rating for Pissrael is 'MODERATE FREEDOM'.
You were joking when you said that they aren't biased, weren't you?
You were joking when you said that they aren’t biased, weren’t you?
Yes
You were joking when you said that they aren't biased, weren't you?
99% sure they were, this is their top post.
Tagline material.
Marxists.org is a collection of works on political theory. They aren't really biased beyond wanting to preserve the works and provide easy access to them.
The link is to something written by Lenin in 1917, referencing something Marx wrote earlier. I suppose you could say that Lenin and Marx were biased in the sense that they had strong views but that isn't a valid reason to dismiss everything they ever said, and that ignorant perspective is just going to get you laughed at here.
Tbh some of the translations could use work, but they are republishing work they didnt translate themselves
marxists.org is an archive of hundreds of thousands of texts by influential sociologists, historians, political economists and political theorists. It's not our "facts" it's an argument in the form of a written text. Perhaps you should sit down and take the time to read sometimes and maybe learn something.
They're quoting Marx which is being hosted on marxists.org, you brick.
Also everyone is biased, objective reporting is literally impossible. Learn how to do source critique and text analysis instead of just gargling the same thought-killing propaganda you've been regurgitating your whole life
Everybody is biased. Denying one's own biases just means that you do not understand them.
Want to come over, I'll read it to you directly from a book?
space cadet
noun
- One who shows difficulty in grasping or responding appropriately to serious or necessary concerns; a spacy person.
good bit tbh, sorry anyone wasted their time responding to you
Tell me you're an "enlightened centrist" without telling me you're an enlightened centrist...
"Changed the direction of the country"
Gonna need a fat source on that one because for everyone who actually cracks a history book, or fuck it, skims Wikipedia even... it's pretty clear that the US has always been a reactionary fascistic hellscape with only small moments of a glint of possible redemption immediately snuffed out as it lurches back into reactionary sentiments.
Examples being post-Civil War reconstruction being stalled out, the constitution not being scrapped in whole in favor of a new one, etc. Or post-FDR when the more left-leaning liberal policies were working quite well, Truman gets in and immediately wants to go genocide Korea to prove he isn't a dirty commie... or whatever bullshit.
So, again, gonna need some sort of actually coherent explanation for how Trump is the aberration as opposed to Justice Warren and Justice Thurgood Marshall being the aberrations. The oddballs, historically, who actually managed to implement the will of the people (to a small, limited degree of course) via SCOTUS... only to spark like 70 years of asshurt from reactionaries who came up with a plan of action and executed it. Trump was just the final domino in that specific plan. It was always going to succeed eventually regardless of which republican held office because the liberals never bothered to actually substantially pushback on the reactionaries. Almost like they either agree or don't actually care and just cynically pretend to care.
You need a 'fat source' for stuff like the invasions of Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Vietnam, Iraq, etc., the coups in Brazil, Chile, Ukraine, etc., settler-colonialism in the Americas, in Palestine, slavery and segregation in the US itself, neocolonialism happening/being a thing and not just being a figment of everybody's imagination?
I mean, if you want me to, I can provide sources for those things happening, but I think that it's pretty obvious that those things did/do happen/are happening.
Democratically elected
Trump lost the popular vote, but still got in. Bush with the Florida thing.
Gerrymandering.
The immense amount of ratfucking you've seen during primaries.
The incredibly low voter participation.
The fact that the government does not care what you think.
And we're not even getting into the suppression that is done. This is a fact, US elections are decided when they do the redistricting
Thank you for demonstrating my point. Please pick another thread to go cry about the Capitol riot in, it's not like there's a lack of liberal and more-highly-federated (and thereby more liberal) instances to do that in.
i want you to know that you are a stupid asshole
