do you think so? i'm sure we are overrepresented, but the majority seems like it could be a stretch. i would guess libs are still the majority. the prevailing ideology is very difficult to shake off even as a member of a marginalised group, whole lot of comfortable trans folks out there who are happy liberals, or young people who just don't get it yet. of course trans folks are primed for radicalisation but the pipelines just aren't there in my country. not trying to sound doomer i would love to believe it's true but doesn't reflect my experience. not sure about ego, i think it's more that social spaces (barring explicitly political ones like here) will tend to just reflect the prevailing ideology, causing libs to rise to positions of power and dissent to be naturally discouraged. and i don't think the effect of trans folks being more likely to be commies is quite strong enough to counteract that in most cases.

its of course very hard to poll trans people on their politics, ive done it in my local lgbt org and it was 90% socialist. but those are people that are coming in to an lgbt center. if youre doing that, you want community of some kind.
