This feels reminiscent of nazi fear mongering about a bolshevik invasion

Why would Russia do any of this. They literally aren't even interested in taking all of Ukraine, just the parts where ethnic Russians were being oppressed. Lib brain is nonsensical

Same reason why all the Midwest collectively shit themselves after 9/11 thinking Al-Qaeda was going to bomb Six Flags or the Mall of America

I mean, if they were going to bomb the Midwest, there are several places in Wisconsin I could have suggested

Make sure the Figi's factory is on the list. Those so-called "fresh" cheese curds have really taken a nosedive in quality in recent years.

There's a cheesemonger about an hour's drive away from me. It's fantastic stepping into that massive refrigerator and just inhaling all the cheeses.

Everything happens in a vacuum and no historical contexts are ever needed/taught in liberal fascist land.

They won't but the political and investment establishment is full of i-am-adolf-hitler and have collective pants shitting from WW2 and they need to maintain the commies are coming to overrun us and deny us power and money

This is what European liberals actually believe.

They have no realistic understanding of the material world, it is all Harry Potter to them. I've had "adult in the room" liberals, serious people with serious jobs, react to my suggestion that Denmark should defund its military to fund welfare by asking the snarky question "how much welfare will there be when Russia invades us?"

If you had every "Austrian Guy trying to fearmonger about an invasion from Russia" in a room you'd have two guys.

The only plausible way Russia might attack Austria wouldn’t depend on controlling Ukraine.

    Show the good ending

It was very funny the first time I was in Austria and the Saturday test sirens went off (this is a thing in Austria. Every Saturday they blow all the air raid sirens just in case they're one day invaded) and one of the Austrian teens jumped up and yelled "fuck! The Russians are here!" to screw with the foreigners who didn't know about the tests, but became much less funny when I realised the Austrians genuinely thought Russia was on the brink of invading at all times.
