Is ze/hir from Leslie Feinberg? I like it. There's something about the older pronouns and trans terms that just sound cool to me because they remind me that trans people have always been here, like "transgenderist". :leslie-feinberg: :trans-heart:
They are from Leslie! I know I've said this time and time again here but Leslie is my absolute hero. Hir writings have helped me grow immensely as a trans person and in general. I've been kind of dipping my toes into neopronouns recently and I really love the idea of using Leslie's pronouns almost in the way that you see parents naming their children after someone they hold a lot of respect and admiration for, if that makes sense?
In the vein of older terminology being rad and vintage as fuck, I also really embrace identifying as 'transsexual' over 'transgender'. You'll generally be crucified for calling a transgender person a transsexual, but there is a very, very, very, very small group of people who still use that term to describe the fact that they've medically transitioned. I've been maliciously called transsexual before and while it hurt back then, it's very empowering now having embraced the terminology and understanding the history and power behind the term.
Sorry for the TC signature wall of text, haha.
If this isn't enough to slake your lust for garlic, then I once again offer my family's hummus recipe in service of the revolution:
Ingredients:
- 30 oz. (two 15 oz. cans) garbanzo beans/chickpeas/ceci beans
- Juice of 1 lemon (approx. 1 and ½ tablespoons)
- ½ cup tahini
- 1 head garlic
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cumin
- ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
- ½ to 1 cup light olive oil
- ¼ cup chopped parsley
Assembly:
- Drain liquid from garbanzo bean cans and place beans in a food processor.
- Add lemon juice, tahini, and peeled garlic cloves.
- Add salt, cumin, and cayenne pepper.
- Blend in food processor.
- After ingredients are mostly blended, add olive oil by drizzling into food processor while it is running.
- When mixture is smooth and well-blended, transfer to a large bowl and stir in chopped parsley.
- Serve at room temp with whatever you like dipping in hummus.
I add some of the aquafaba back to make the hummus smoother instead of using that much olive oil. Also this needs a lot more lemon juice
Interesting I'll pass that along, my dad reverse engineered this recipe from the hummus we got from our local deli when I was a kid, so I'm sure there's room for improvement.

Love you too though, pal. ❤️❤️
Valentine's was always more of a "Friendship-Day" where I live, it's only recently the burger-culture has slowly been overtaking everything with their commercial carbage like a fungus.
