I kind of miss March-May days. Had SOME hope left back then.

I remember in the early days of April, when we had something that even vaguely resembled a quarantine.

There were no cars on the road and I could smell the sea breeze for the first time in my life. I live 7 miles inland from the shore.

I was telling people back then that this was going to be at least a year long thing at minimum. I hate being right sometimes.

Honestly I was kinda down for a quarantine. I was like “okay two weeks drinking beer and playing Rimworld. Yeah I’ll put on a few pounds but whatever I’ll burn it off”, then I realized I was an “essential worker”, and not only that the place I worked (at the time) got BUSIER thanks to the pandemic.

Thank god I got a different job, one where I can social distance pretty easy and I don’t really have to interact with the public at all. I was honesty in the verge of losing it after the 5th month.

People stopped clapping in New York after they saw what the NYPD did to protestors.

Back in the first month or so politicians here even stopped making racist bullshit the centre of every political discussion and concentrated on handling the pandemic rationally and, dare I say, even competently. They're back on the racism now of course and the spirit from those magical weeks is long gone.

My god, does anyone remember there was a period for maybe a few weeks or a month where covid legitimately was not political? I still remember I ever so slowly started seeing memes about it being a hoax until ever so slowly the anti mask movement became associated with trump at which point by being a trump supporter you had to be anti mask

I bet they still sing from balconies when a town in China or Vietnam has to quarantine.

That is how the revolution will be like. That is why we have to transition to communist, cause permanent revolutions are exhausting as fuck.
