yeah maybe if the fed didn't give like 90% of the aid to business owners there would be less inflation

Liberals absolutely love the "ackshually, by trying to make things better you really made them worse!" narrative because it justifies inaction.

Also, whatever action any government takes will have some unitended consequences so you can pretty much guaruntee that you can find Bad Thing associated with it.

Unless it is some means tested garbage like tax credits which will inevitably only get used by people wealthy enough to have accountants.

Then it is brilliant. No poors getting aid, only the nebulous middle class that must always be appealed to.

This is why I think when, not if, Trump runs for 2024 all he has to do is promise a return of the checks as well some form of vague promise of rent control and draining the swamp of aimless bureaucrats he'll win again and permanently destroy the psyche of most liberals. I can hear him now, "I missed you all you know, and I bet you all missed me. It's been terrible for how long I've been gone, so very long, such a shame what all happened, but don't worry I'm here to send sleepy Joe back to where he belongs. Out of my house" He then grabs a steel chair and executes Desantis in front of a live audience for defying him during the primaries.

Trump winning is good for accelerating America in the long term but would be worse for leftists now. Libs would absolutely blame everyone left of Obama for letting the god dang cheeto back in to the friggin white house and will go full anticom, which will be enabled by the right for obvious reason.

The left will never be allowed any meaningful action within the democratic party unless backed by very angry citizens with the implication of force (not just votes) that disruptions will occur until demands are met (imagine George Floyd Riots again but even more angry and pissed off telling the dems to fuck off would be needed).

But might be just the kind of comprehensive pressure the left needs to finally break free of Democrats entirely and organize for real

it didn’t buy the land slide they thought they where going to get

It DID. They won the fucking Presidency, House, and Senate. They got two back-to-back wins in Georgia AND Arizona, states Dems haven't won in twenty years. The lesson of 2020 should have been "Give people money with your name on it and they will vote for you" instead of "Do nothing and blame non-voters".

Couldn’t have been the massive corporate tax cuts, or the millions of dead people and lockdowns bringing supply chains to a halt

Nope it was definitely giving a tiny morsel of relief to the peasantry

So like these ghouls get paid to write this propaganda right? You'd have to be a fucking moron to look at the 2.2 Trillion CARES act and then point at the 300 Billion in cash payments given to citizens as the cause of inflation. Most of the rest of fucking bill was loans to corporations/businesses which they used for buybacks or whose claims were outright fraudulent. Also it's definitely not the unlimited quantitative easing increasing the money supply by large margins. Fuck you Santul Nerkar and Amelia Thomson-DeVeaux. You're either useful idiots or monsters.

I mean, if you want to get to the real nut of it all, its (D) None Of The Above.

Wages aren't keeping up with price increases. This is not a demand-induced increase in prices. Its a supply shock, caused by our decaying penny-pinched Just In Time logistics system. The :brrrrrrrrrrrr: kept the cash-strapped system from collapsing even faster by offering a premium for everything of value. But so long as we're picking fights with the World's Largest Exporter and Europe's Largest Energy Supplier, we're going to keep running into shortages no matter how much money is or isn't in the financial system.
