In a law-respecting world, the answer to even illegal content is not to use other illegal means like DDoS attacks to silence it.

    :john-brown: looks on disapprovingly

We are also not taking this action directly because of the pressure campaign.

This is like a cat that fell asleep and rolled off of a shelf and then tries to play it off like, "I meant to do that."

While law enforcement in these areas are working to investigate what we and others reported, unfortunately the process is moving more slowly than the escalating risk.

:morshu-stickup: Cops! HOOH!, Good Gawd! What are they good for?

This is a hard case and we would caution anyone from seeing it as setting precedent.

    Reasonable.

It's like they don't even want to succeed. They're willing to let these fuckers stomp all over them if it means their shelves of fine china in the other room aren't disturbed. They honestly deserve it at this point anyway, so maybe it's for the best that they act so useless. Act like a rug, and don't whine when they accidentally curbstomp you without even looking down.

Cloudflare trying so hard to pretend that it totally wasn't the public pressure. Never mind that the economic threat to CF was only going to grow and they know that.

Still wish I could figure out a way to bootstrap a replacement service to CF to drive them out of business.

This is the power of organization. Individually, they're completely pathetic incels, but with organization, they were able to drive trans people to suicide. And like you noted, the site functioned more like a tool for coordination than as an actual org. Imagine what a real org can do.

Of fucking course he said that. I'm not even mildly impressed by the feeble fuckin attempts at "provocation" he does nowadays.

Like, holy shit, this is so predictable it makes me feel like I'm living in some exaggerated slapstick fucking cartoon reality where every attention-seeking public figure (if you could even call him that) beyond a certain level of fame has the intelligence of the main character of a half-page-long Polish joke printed in some shitty Manhattan newspaper in the 1920s, where the moral is some shit like "Ah shucks, look at how this fool tries to cause a stir wherever he goes! He always ends up simply saying the opposite of what we common folks think!" It's fucking inane and pitiful if it's genuine, and morally rotten if it's just a cynical trick where they're "playing dumb." This shit also applies to US politics and their federal agencies, but in the latter case it's definitely a sick hybrid of both. For Vaush, I'm honestly not sure. But he's definitely at the very least a depraved motherfucker who should probably be resting in a pit somewhere, sealed over with cement Chernobyl-style. He's clearly a moron too, for thinking that is or has ever been a good way for anyone to spend their life instead of helping people and actually being at odds with corrupt systems of capitalism.

Seriously, what is in the fucking water across North America nowadays? Actually, don't even answer that. I already know and would rather not think about it.

Twitter, and most monopoly platforms are exactly like this. You are rewarded for being intentionally and confidentially wrong. The dumbest shit, like "anarcho-NATOism" or "patriotic socialism" rises to the top. It draws impressions both from people who hate and ridicule it, as well as people who support it.

We will continue to work proactively with law enforcement to help with their investigations into the site and the individuals who have posted what may be illegal content to it. And we recognize that while our blocking Kiwifarms temporarily addresses the situation, it by no means solves the underlying problem. That solution will require much more work across society. We are hopeful that our action today will help provoke conversations toward addressing the larger problem. And we stand ready to participate in that conversation.

    Such bullshit.

If you cared about addressing the wider problem in society you wouldn't platform fascists. You wouldn't give them the tools to grow. You wouldn't give them the tools to radicalise others. You wouldn't give them the tools of community and the ability to find each other.

But you do. Because you're full of shit. You help fascists grow.

We are well past the point where fascists need throwing in rehabilitation programs. Call it re-education or whatever you want but the problem doesn't get solved without it. That's the soft option too, doing nothing and allowing them to keep growing will only lead to the hard option which will be confrontation and bullets.

He's a person who is an immense shut in uncomfortable with the outside world. When he was living with Hotwheels (the founder of 8chan another cess pit) in the Phillipines, Hotwheels remarked that in the time he lived with Null, he would refuse to go outside, socialize or even eat the local food, preferring to stay indoors.

Null only says he's in Eastern Europe because he's afraid someone will justifiably hurt him.

Unfortunately IIRC they never seem to have harmed him directly.
