From your other comments you are clearly using his mental health as an excuse. Which is extremely pathetic and really harmful to people who struggle with it. Having unhealthy thought patterns doesn't turn you into a fascist and I would know.

I don't understand how someone who is clearly fanboying in denial is getting upvoted for just blatant apologia but good job, Hexbear.

Being bipolar does not make you a racist or a fascist. It may cause some pretty frightening delusions when you're in a manic episode but those are usually along the lines of "Everyone wants to have sex with me" or "I am the smartest business person in the world" or "I am actually Jesus".

And like the commenter below, I would know. I actually have Bipolar Disorder.

He just said exactly what they say as their core conspiracy theory.

What would make him a black Israelite or alternatively what would make you not listen to an antisemitic reactionary as if there aren't other rappers? Does he have to join Black Hammer or does parroting Ghazi's rhetoric suffice?

back in the long ago, people from faraway places would come to divine wisdom from the toxic gas fueled ramblings of mentally and emotionally unstable "oracles" living in caves on greek islands. it was thought that they spoke in riddles as diviners of the gods.

today, through the magic of progress, the oracles are just people with lots of money. due to the pervasive nature of spectacle, mass culture and twitter, these rambling cave people can deliver their every thought directly to every screen and handheld device around the world. so, even if you aren't interested, rest assured that someone will excitedly pass along the latest mouth fart some idiot pushed from their brain.

he's on his divorced dad to alt right pipeline arc. yes he struggles with bipolar disorder, he's definitely not handling it well, but ultimately, i don't think being bipolar makes you rabidly antisemitic like kanye is getting so, i'm guessing it's the other stuff.

I just don't get it. I know music is subjective, but what makes Kanye stand out? There are plenty of artists on par, if not better than him. I just don't get why he's so special.

Sounds like lil Wayne. He's the worst part of a lot of his songs. Especially when there are guests on them.

There was a period of time when a new kanye album was a huge deal, his album Dark Fantasy is akin to Sgt Peppers in rock music in terms for what it did for hip hop. Its huge. Honestly theres a lot of 'actually I always hated Kanye' going on over on twitter, but its gotta be from people who dont remember this album drop because no one hated it. It was massive, I think the first 10/10 on pitchfork.

This site does not seem to like rap so I don't think a lot of people understand his influence on the genre. He is possibly the single most influential artist of the 21st century.

He pioneered the soul revival that happened in the early 2000s in rap and brought back the sampling of soul songs that's still huge today. You can still see his influence there in rappers like Chance the Rapper, Saba and Smino out of Chicago. We also wouldn't have Kendrick Lamar, who is widely considered one of the best rappers of this era, and was clearly heavily influenced by that sound.

College Dropout and Late Registration changed what was seen as "acceptable" subject matter in rap songs in the mainstream, getting much more personal and vulnerable than was normal. He definitely paved the way for more introspective mainstream rap.

808s was one of the first uses of the bass heavy, EDM-ish sort of sounds in the rap mainstream. This one is basically impossible to escape, and trap music as we know it wouldn't exist without that album.

I don't wanna go too long but you can say this about most of his albums. The big, soaring production of rappers like Lil Simz? Thank MBDTF. The more industrial sound of rappers like Travis Scott? Thank Yeezus. Not to say he single handedly created those sounds but he did bring them into the mainstream.

None of this is to excuse him being a piece of shit, but to explain why it's so bitterly fucking disappointing for people like me who love rap to see him turn into a hateful person.

This is the type of stuff that I really REALLY hate about the "celebrity black man in America" trope. America hates black people unless they are saying stuff like this. Part of the reason I hate people like Candace Owens and Kanye West (really anyone who uses their identity as a tool for elevating themselves by pushing other people down). I can't speak on it for other people of color, or minority groups, but this is the type of uniquely enraging shit to see as a black man. I felt and feel the same way about wealthy black men whose wealth is extracted from the community and it never returns to the community. Black men who are cops or military folks who pride themselves on their ability to destroy other black/brown men in their neighborhoods or around the world, and build a "brand" off it. It's just the fuckin' worst. I hate America's celebrity culture cancer that rotting away our already poor understanding of politics.

This shit sucks. I don't find it funny at all, I just find enraging that this sort of clown is the exact type of person who can navigate the modern media. Also speaking on George Floyd's murder like this is just despicable, I can't imagine any black man (really anyone) who any amount of mental/poltical/moral/ethical/religous (in Kanye's cause as he's on his God is King tip) integrity looking at video of his murder and saying dumb shit like that.

If conservatives really are persecuted, when why does everyone flock to brag about how conservative they are to be hip and trendy?

Saying "LGBT good" gets you socially ostracized but waving a swastika around makes everyone love you for having the default political ideology.

You brag about how woke you are to get in. Then you brag about how based you are to cash out.

Nothing about current Kanye is pandering to young people. Its all for the Olds.

I'll admit, I'm an old who doesn't know a lot of young people anymore.

But when I saw thousands of kids storming through the streets of Houston during the BLM protests, they didn't look much like Nazis to me.

          The cops did, though.
