Reminder that rainwater itself is now, worldwide, also undrinkable - has high toxic PFAS levels as well at least. On every part of the globe. We've managed to make rainwater itself toxic in the entire biosphere.

Similarly, you can pick up water in nature anywhere - from a forest near you, the ocean, the deepest abyssal trench, or the highest peak - and you will find microplastics in it. It's everywhere on the planet. They're so endemic you get that kind of shit in wild areas, for example. We already determined they have an impact on the central nervous system of many fishes' species; there's little reason to assume they don't have an impact on ours either.

A single fish from freshwater sources in half of the US watersheds has more PFAs than a human normally consumes in a month.

Tanneries from the 1800's are still polluting waterways. It is hopeless in some areas. The amount of money needed to dredge rivers like the Ohio can cost $100+ million per mile to cleanup.

But have you considered we need to give a hundred trillion more dollars to Ukraine?

I wish there was some way to avoid PFAS chemicals. I'm already fucked having been a firefighter but now they're everywhere. If groundwater is near a military base or airport or even just a factory that uses them, it's poison.

Oh boy, can't wait for Coke to get fined $30. That'll teach 'em!

EDIT: Wait what the fuck, they're suing them for false advertising and not the poisoning thing?

It claims that the levels of the various PFAS chemicals are above legal limits, but I'd figure you could go after a class action for that.

In the EU so many American brands have to be produced differently, or are just outright banned

IIRC that's even true in Canada and Mexico, lol.

I don’t think we’ll even get bug meat. They’re going to save money and just feed us dirt and rocks and call it Roach Bar

doesn't the orange juice erode the shit out of the crappy plastic bottles they come in? i thought this was why everything was moving to paper based cartons?

Fun fact: paper-based liquid containers are all lined with plastic to "preserve flavor" and prevent leaks.

      Same with soda cans.
