always sounded made up to me; sometimes you just gotta put pause the ride, it doesn't seem like it should merit actual harm

Blue balls is real and can be uncomfortable. It's not just something sex pests made up to coerce people. And it almost always goes away within an hour. I think it's something about semen getting loaded in to the vas deferens and the vas deferens not being set up to handle being full for prolonged periods, something like that. Apparently the going theory is that it's caused by blood flowing in to the testicles and penis during arousal, but then the body not sending the signal to stop or reverse or whatever that process that usually occurs with orgasm or ejaculation. The whole system is reasonably robust though so it eventually sorts itself out.

Apparently it's hardly ever studied, probably because it almost always resolves on it's own within an hour. I'm not even sure it can be consistently induced, It's been pretty random for me.

I think it's important to know that it's real, both because people need to be able to read the feedback they're getting from their reproductive system, and because if someone tries to pressure you with it you can tell them to walk it off or go sit on some frozen peas because it'll sort itself out before too long.

That said, sudden unexpected pain in the testicles should always be taken seriously as it may be a symptom of testicular torsion. If it's severe or persists for more than an hour or two you should go to the ER to get checked out.

I've never heard of this. Interrupting it how? Like by flexing so you stop peeing?

If you want multiple shots at hitting whatever piece of debris is stuck to the back of the urinal you have to pause the stream briefly. It's cheating to just move the ongoing stream over to it.

I've heard that holding back pee too often when your bladder is full can cause it to deform, but never heard about interrupting a pee being a problem.

absolutely. idk if its a penis wielder thing, maybe we've got extra muscles down there that make it possible. but it's not even difficult. its maybe a little uncomfortable for a second or two and then its all good

women should be able to do it to since it's the muscle they train with kegel exercises

Damage? No, probably not. That being said, if you interrupt the stream and then you don't quite get everything out, you might be at a higher risk for a UTI. When you get older (and especially if you have prostate issues), losing that initial flow could be enough to keep a little bit of urine backed up in the urethra, which is where that UTI risk comes in. Assuming you don't just ooze a bunch of piss down the front of your pants shrug-outta-hecks

it's the opposite of harmful. it's recommended to be able to do it and keep that sphincter muscle effective as you age. once you "learn" that muscle and how to contract/relax it, you can work it while you're not peeing.

it's the same as the kegel deal.

I've read that you specifically should not do kegels while peeing, but the rest of the time they're good.

I read this by googling "does it actually cause harm to interrupt pee" and I'm too lazy to look up a source on my phone

no. Thanks to an intense training regimen of kegel HIIT, I am able to easily do this dozens of times, possibly hundreds, in a single stream

I've always heard the opposite: trying to speed things up and push it out faster is what does the damage, not stopping it outright. The way the Pee muscles supposedly work is by relaxing, so flexing when it's supposed to relax is bad.
