    oh god.

someone needs to repost that meme where the man and woman both consent, but then the leftist says something like, "uhh, i think you forgot to ask me"

edit: this one, but instead of jesus, it's 'leftist' men online arguing about women's birth control lmfao

I mean yeah, but the whole “as long as it’s consensual adults it’s beyond any criticism” thing is some libertarian bullshit. Society compels people to “consensually” decide to do things that make them fucking miserable all the time. The idea we should never ask “why” is lib shit.

People should have the right to choose, but people also often end up choosing things that make them downright miserable. I know I have. There’s plenty of feminist media (both serious and comical) about how totally consensual sex can leave people still feeling like shit afterwards. You can recognize this without advocating for some kind of behavior gestapo to go around making sure everyone does what’s scientifically best for them.

Honestly what I’m really saying it, I don’t think most people want pure unadulterated “freedom”, most people also want resources to make sure they use that freedom effectively. There’s a reason rich people spend tons of money on therapists, life coaches and personal trainers. A lot of people given the ability to do anything without any guidance will either become aimless or reckless. Speaking as someone to regrets a lot of bad choices and wasted time in my younger years, I often wish I had been born into a society that did a better job of “nudging” me in the right direction, just not with the barrel of a gun mind you.

beyond criticism? no, some bedroom stuff can and should be critically analysed. but telling people how to do sex? not really, you do you. if you can stomach it after we scientifically prove all your kinks are problematic

Of course you can ask "Why", but in practice I've only ever seen that kind of attitude be used to justify "your kinks are terrible, you're brainwashed, you're a broken person, you need therapy, you think you want this but you don't" kind of grandstanding.

I mean you’re right. It often does just become a “woke” avenue for shaming which I don’t really think is helpful even if the behavior is truly unhealthy.

Not trying to bait, and I understand if you don't want to share. But what would you consider "truly unhealthy" behaviors?

Me, at least off the top of my head, I would definitely count fin-dom in there.

Obviously it varies from person to person but the vast majority of women see improvements in quality of life from birth control. Severe side effects are actually quite rare. They just seem common because the internet amplifies negative experiences. That being said, a viable male birth control cannot come soon enough.

Getting an IUD was such a load off my mind. Definitely increased my sexual happiness. Yes, insertion is painful and I wish my partner and I could trade off every 5 years. Actually, we'd both probably just get it because increased security is worth the 3 minutes of big ouch and 1 day of small ouch.

Condoms are not as effective as hormonal (or copper iud) birth control. Using them instead of birth control increases "fairness" but the least fair thing that can happen in consensual, healthy sex is an unwanted pregnancy and that happens to the AFAB person.

This argument is so stupid for the majority of people who have sex. Exception being AFABs with awful side effects.

Really is quite a contrast coming to this after watching Come and See .

Premise of this whole thing is stupid.

    1. No matter the gender, the majority of people enjoy raw sex over using a condom. It is not just men who prefer it that way.

    2. For many women it helps regulate periods and reduces all the symptoms surrounding periods such as nausea and headaches.

    3. If the pill is fucking you up, you can stop using it/seek alternatives.

    4. If the situation is one where the pill is fucking you up and you're only using it for raw sex, you can talk about that with your partner. Unless you're in some unfortunate circumstance, you can be an adult and discuss things.

The prompt to this is really leaning into hard christian right wing territory where its implying that only men enjoy raw sex. Its also assuming that women are stupid and would just do what the male wants.

I mean, I’ve meet women who say they prefer the feel of a penis without a confirm for the 15 minutes they have sex twice a week, including my current partner. She uses an IUD though, m which from what I’ve been told sucks to have put in but you only gotta do it every 4 years and there aren’t any real bad side effects beyond that.

My gf had an allergic reaction to a copper IUD (nonhormonal). Went to ER and primary care--both said it was herpes and a yeast infection. After a full week of being bedridden and unable to use the bathroom without assistance, we said fuck this and had the primary care take it out. The test came back negative for herpes and the infection started to clear up the next day. Docs wouldn't listen to her that the IUD was the problem and wouldn't (at the ER) let me be in the room with her when they poked around (e.g. restrained her against her will), resulting in PTSD-type responses due to past trauma Legit thought she might have died--they gave her painkillers and anti-anxiety meds that fucked with her head throughout this, causing her to have MORE panic attacks. Overall it was hell. Then covid became a thing a few weeks later. Rough stretch for us lol

every birth control i tried has fucked my body in some way, from horrible depression to being nauseous for 3 months to litetally getting a blood clot in my 20s (even tho I didn't have any of thr increased side effects like smoking or being obese)

luckily I'm pan and married to a woman so its not a consideration anymore. I'm glad it seems to work for the vast majority of people though.

I don’t think it’s cuz I’m castrated I think it’s just cuz I went to hard jerking it as a teen.

Bjs still feel good, I enjoy getting them, just usually can’t climax from them. Penetrative sex usually does but it takes a while with a condom. I don’t really “mind” it but I prefer it without.

I don't think it has anything to do with jerkin'. Everyone does that as a teen; penises are built for jerkin'. Especially intact ones, because their gliding mechanism eliminates the need for hand-to-penis skin abrasion during a masturbation stroke.
