Hi, I'm budoguytenkaichi, and I'm fat.

And I'm willing to bet I'm not the only one here either.

On here, and much of the left, there's a prevalent attitude of encouraging "the swoletariat" or how "a fascist worked out today, did you?".

These things are not necessarily bad or negative on their own, but it should be remembered that people are deserving of respect and dignity whether they choose to get in shape or not.

I say that cuz, in addition to these views, I've also seen plenty of fat shaming and weight-based insults, especially aimed at chuds/libs we don't like, so that makes it "okay".

It doesn't, it really doesn't.

Remember that when you insult someone's weight, and infer that they're a "disgusting, worthless slob" or what have you, odds are there are non-thin comrades seeing that too and wondering "Would they think of me that way too?".

Us being overweight/fat doesn't make us worth less as human beings, whether we're being compared to those of average weight, or those with the physiques of Olympians.

I'll always remember how someone on the old subreddit basically told me that non-thin comrades should be excluded from all public materials/propaganda/etc. and hidden away, because apparently we'd "hurt" the cause just by existing and being acknowledged.

Fuck that.

Don't push away your overweight/fat comrades people, we want a better future just as much as you do.

There's very little difference between what you're talking about and the libs doing the whole "trump gay with putin lol" shit. That people are downbearing this is disappointing

I think it's kinda funny that out of all the possibilities, racism against white people is what makes you want to stop coming to this site.

yeah i was with this post till it went to "white people bad" lol

I'm literally white and i make those jokes because,,, white people bad. If you're feeling sensitive about people saying that, maybe examine why you're invested at all about that. If you live in North America and you're white, you're literally a fucking colonizer and you need to address that. That doesn't mean you're bad or evil, but you are here because your ancestors were most likely involved in evil shit. North america was fully POC hundreds of years ago and yet, now Amerikkka and Klanada are white supremecist nations and constantly work to uphold white supremacy. I mean, just look at our presidential candidates this year. We had the guy who literately wrote the bill that put millions of black people back into slavery via prison or the guy who took out a full page ad calling for the murder of innocent black teens and who equated mexicans with rapists.

          White people bad.

It's like the same shit as men getting offended by women saying 'destroy the patriarchy'. Shut the fuck up, if you're actually "one of the good ones" (you're not, because you care more about tone policing than helping out) you would either just laugh in agreement or just move on because it doesn't apply to you.

Fat shaming is not the same as making fun of whyte ppl for saying Mayo is spicy. Whiteness is made up to give people with a fairer skin complexion unearned privilege. Making fun of whiteness is always okay and should be promoted on this site.

I agree. Even when dunking on those who deserve dunking, attacks on weight and looks should be discouraged.

However, I really appreciate the posts encouraging exercise and better eating habits because that’s just good for everybody who’s able. I’m about 30 lbs overweight with hardly any muscle mass and I appreciate the reminder that I need to change my lifestyle, when I’m able to (stupid depression).

One thing that’s on my mind from time to time is making fun of pol fash for their weak chins and small wrists. Most of the time it’s a really funny insult because of how fucking mad it makes 4ch*n posters. But sometimes it sucks because I have a weak chin and small wrists too, lmao. I have a beard and am self-aware, so it generally doesn’t bother me. But sometimes on a particularly bad mental health day, seeing it casually dropped in the comments stings a little.

I know it's a hard time to connect with people, but to help me with my depression and physical health goals I had to reach out to someone to keep me accountable for daily walks. It's done wonders for both my physical and mental health. Depression is a fuck, and on the bad days my accoubtabilibuddy reminding me of our walk is the only thing that gets me out of bed.

But that's the key, right? Usually once I'm up, I'm glad for it. Once the walk starts, I no longer dread it. By the time I'm done, it's not a bad day anymore. I suffered for months before getting help - I hope you're not trying to tackle it alone either. Regardless, get well soon comrade.

Also a fat and it's time to do one the three things I do a lot on this site which is overshare.

I'm heavy yet mobile. I've been going to the gym since Trump got in office but covid. Miss those heavy weights, actually thinking of just making my own soon, and doing full body exercises. I didn't actually lose weight I think just got more compact.

Growing up the stables at home were beans, flour tortillas, and rice. Meat was a treat on pay day and vegetables were rare. Mom would do the cooking but she worked so it wasn't something she could do all the time. Dad only knew burgers and everything else sucked. Fast food was also a thing because it was easy. Snacks were also plenty think ramen noodles and the like.

We had a water filter system but a jackass uncle broke because it made too much noise. I know peeps say just drink tap water but when we did it made us feel off. Like our stomachs felt swollen. We had a small filter but that took to long to work and eventually broke. Bottle water never lasted so we drank soda. I know soda is meh but you can sell the cans afterward vs the plastic bottles. I still remember where all the best water fountains were in school through high school since I try to drink a bunch of water before heading home. 6 years ago we got a water cooler and now drink a lot of water whenever we want.

We did exercise but as others know you can't outrun a bad diet. All this accumulated in me weighing 300+ lbs out of high school. I thankfully was never bullied or maybe never realized I was bullied. Friends or random people would encourage me or defend me from any comment about my weight, guess because I'm sympathetic and kind.

But being big took a toll on my mind. I sabotaged myself from being in any relationship because I felt unlovable and ugly. There were several nice girls that were interested but I never reciprocated and played dense.

I been taking steps in the last couple of years to lose weight like cooking and understanding sugar. Also been building up my self-esteem. Yeah I'm still big but I like myself, I can raise my head up and stare at myself in the mirror. Same with photos, I recognize and like myself. I'm a person with self worth and self respect and I recognize it regardless of my appearance of what other may think about me.

What I'm trying to write with this mini manifesto is that I'm a person and so is every comrade regardless of their appearance. We have reasons why we are the way we are. We have sorrows, rages, and emotions about our bodies. We have things holding us down other than gravity. Shaming doesn't help because we live with shame, we know it all too well. Please be kind because we each have a story to tell on this hellworld stage directed by capitalism.

It's basically the equivalent of telling a smoker that cigarettes cause lung cancer. They've likely heard that line a thousand times before and hearing it for the 1,001st time isn't going to magically reverse all the conditions in their lives that made them a smoker in the first place.

But also let's be real, those people don't actually give a shit about the health of overweight people. They just use that as a shield to try to mask their toxicity.

Some of the most vitriol I've got on here has been after saying that we shouldn't mock short men for their height.

Turns out just being "left-wing" doesn't rid you of toxic masculinity.

it's hard to remain cool and empathetic in 2020, but posts like these help the community do so. we're all flawed pieces of shit, and are in need of these every once in a while.

You don't even have to lift weights. Any type of physical exercise will be good for your mental and physical health. Seriously, just going for bike rides and walks everyday did more for my mental health than any medication ever did and on top of that, my lung/heart were prob in better shape than they had ever been my entire life. I would recommend that everyone find something that they enjoy doing that gets them off the couch and breaking a sweat.

I understand there are a lot of mental/physical/financial/time based reasons why people aren't able to do these sort of things, and of course covid complicates things even more, so I do want to stress that there's no shame if you're not able to find a way to be physically fit.

Have you never seen a woman get called "a fucking bitch" as a result of an action she took that inconvenienced men? Perhaps it's turning down a date, or sending a man "to the friend zone", maybe she's just coming forward with her abuse story and a man's image gets ruined.

The idea behind the insult is to diminish a woman's self worth, I would say it can be considered a slur. There are words we consider normal that we don't realise how bigoted they are (like the r slur, for example) until someone points it out.

Idk, I just don't like calling women bitches so I don't. If she's an awful person there are plenty of other things I can say that aren't misogynistic

I'm about the same thing as OP.

The senator (or whatever, i'm not american) is a ghoul, she deserves to be ridiculed, and not slapped back with the most basic sexist insult that can be found on the english vocabulary.

There was another tweet going back at her citing the racist history of the US which was epic. Putting the other guy on pedestal though is no less cringe imo than vaush going on about tactical N-words.

I personally never grew up with bitch being gendered. All the schoolboys called each other bitches, all the girls called each other bitches, it kinda just was an insult much like fucker. Still to this day I am 90% more likely to be calling a guy a bitch when I use the word because that's just how banter goes in my friend group.

Like seriously i cannot even imagine "lil bitch" being gendered. Maybe it's a zoomer thing.

It's also often times ableist or poor shaming. I am both very poor and chronically pained so even when I was hitting the gym 5 days a week for two years straight I was still a thicc ass boi

Taco bell daily will do that to ya and chronic back pain will make it even worse.
