I've seen that episode. Brian dates a trans woman, finds out she is trans, then vomits for like 3 minutes straight. Then the family makes fun of him for it. It was awful
Apparently one of the writers/producers on that episode had a father that transitioned, which makes it extra strange/sad.
Anyway, I think there's a later episode which isn't as bad (low bar), which is what the dad in this scenario could be talking about. I don't remember it that well, but at the time I remember sighing at the start of the episode and then by the end perhaps being a little charitable in interpreting the moral of the episode as 'gender dysphoria is serious and a good solution is supportive transition.'
EDIT: haven't seen the episode in a long long time so who knows
If I remember correctly too, Brian gets beaten up by Quagmire for this, and then tries to gotcha Quagmire by misgendering the woman as well, which the episode treats as an own

she is also Quagmire's parent

It's a disgusting episode through and through
And Seth MacFarlane bragged about how positive it was.
Brian gets beaten up for just being an asshole, Quagmire beats him up not knowing that he slept with her. It's used as the punchline of the fight.
