Donald Trump thinks less about himself than /r/whitepeopletwitter. /r/blackpeopletwitter actually locked down the subreddit to show solidarity with the rest of the site, /r/whitepeopletwitter put the sub into approved users only mode (WHICH WOULDNT BE POSSIBLE WITHOUT 3RD PARTY API’S YOU FUCKING SCABS) and look at that, nobody is posting about the protest on /r/whitepeopletwitter, how strange! But maybe I can interest you in ANOTHER BREAKING NEWS STORY ABOUT DONALD TRUMP!

Whitepeopletwitter is suppose to be a place where people post funny screen caps of :lmayo: putting their dogs in sweaters, it’s supposed to be manchildren soying out over their Nintendo switch and marvel movies, it’s supposed to be people talking about their weird uncles, and you know sometimes there’s something very serious posted. Iirc on their subreddit they had a lengthy handwringing post about how they "stand in solidarity" and then piss it all away saying the subreddit is only going to restrict submissions which you don't even notice if you just lurk (which most people do!).

Subs like r/worldnews are clearly astroturfed as hell, you can scroll for minutes at a time before finding an article that isn't about a non NATO aligned country being bad, and if you check out the people who are posting the articles most of them seem to literally argue for Western Imperialism on reddit as if it's their day job.
The only good part is that on reddit it's pretty much just an echo chamber of western chauvinists circle-jerking with fed posters over china bad. No one who can actually do anything with policy or law gives a shit about reddit and it's cetainly not used by anyone outside the anglosphere.

My friend was trying to tell me that the politicians in Australia were only emboldened to be demons because of Trump and that it all flowed downstream from him. Like they didn't legalize gay marriage only a few years after the U.S., which has still been less than a decade ago. It was fucking maddening.
