For the Trump v Biden Debate we have around 200 users chatting. For the Trump v Kamala Debate we had around 160 users. I'm not sure how many people will be interested in the VP debate.

I am playing it on this channel because the other channel uses peertube, which can potentially share your IP address to other users. This channel will not have peertube.

I will have news commentary playing in the channel before the debate and potentially after the debate as well.

Walz coming out of the gate with uncritical support for Israel's right to start World War 3. Absolute Joy Reich shit.

I can't take this any more. They're just arguing over who can more efficiently implement a fascist vision for America. Fuck this place.

Love how dems will just straight up lie in front of everyone and we're considered crazy for not believing them.

I've finally reached the point at which I understand enough about politics to not pay attention to politics.

Bourgeois electoralism is just an abstraction of a portion of and within the hemisphere of bourgeois politics, as opposed to the hemisphere of proletarian politics, of what politics is in its whole form and motion; in the interdependent unity-and-struggle of and between these two interconnected-and-opposing hemispheres along and between this 'equatorial' line, that is along and between the class divisions defined by the social relationships to the means of production and subsistence, and their superstructural representations.

If one thinks 'knowing about politics' means one can 'not pay attention to politics', one needs to read more of the theory behind real politics; and the proper orienting and navigating in the 'equatorial' conflict and the correct handling of the contradictions between the people.

    Vance is crushing, honestly

And then: Walz with a mealy-mouthed closing; Vance with a strong, sharp message that you deserve a house and a square meal, and reminding you that Kamala hasn't given that to you. And those baby blue eyes. It's too bad he's evil.

Yeah I'll be honest he's doing better than I was expecting. He's managing to not let himself get pinned down defending stupid things Trump, and even he himself has previously said, and has been fairly charismatic and articulate. Walz sounds incoherent at times, and keeps bringing up terminally-political-brained stuff without giving sufficient elaboration/context, so most normal people won't even understand what he's referring to. Vance is a piece of shit for sure, but he's surprisingly good at making Trump and himself sound palatable, if you didn't know better.

        if you didn't know better

Exactly. He's really deft at framing, esp. in giving the viewers a permission structure to support Trump, and giving assuring, flip responses while avoid being pinned on satanic GOP positions, which is leaving Walz blathering, trying to clarify.

Harris and Walz need to stop bringing up Project 2025 in debates. All they have to do is say "no I don't support that, here's what I actually support". Immediate, easy deflect into a stump speech.

Agreed. Project 2025 has always just seemed like bait to me, which the liberal media and democrats have swallowed whole. Not in the sense that it's fake or that everything in it isn't something the GOP actually wishes it could do, but that it has gotten political brain poisoned liberals to freak out constantly about some spooky opaque 1000 page document that no sane person is ever actually going to read, instead of addressing the issues average people actually care about. It just makes them sound weird and annoying.

He's got the energy of a debate kid and the education of an Ivy League shithead. He struggles to appear like a normal person, not like a smarty pants fast talker.

As far as I'm capable of having any morbid curiosity left for Amerikkkan electoralism I am a little curious if Walz attempts to disingenuously gesture leftward at all or if they're both just gonna try to outdo each other on how "tough on crime" they are and how they have the best record on blut und biden homeland security

Don't think I can get myself interested enough to watch live though, I'm sure I'll hear about it from some podcast(s) and get mad about things later

as with the kamala-trump debate, the dems are gloating about the brutality of their border policy while the fascists accuse them of not being brutal enough. americans' blood lust is insatiable

thankfully i apparently missed the part about palestine

Cackling as Walz is dropping spaghetti trying to evade his fib that he embellished his Trot credibility by being at a very terrible Tiananmen Square protest.

Lmao the questions seem to be weirdly pro-Trump for CNN. There's this question about calling Walz out on a lie about going to China during Tianamen Square. Kinda just bizarre.

It was funny how when he "answered" the question it sounded more like he was getting defensive about going to China at all, rather than just saying "well damn I guess I forgot the exact details of something that happened 35 years ago" even when they asked for clarification, he just kind of reiterated the original claim that he was there during the protests lol.

I mean, the "Tiananmen Square" that Americans think of is just one picture on one day, but there were student protests for at least three months right? So he could have just said he was there during the student movement of '89? Daddy football was pretty garsh darn flustered tonight for sure.

Right, but the protests and the aftermath were pretty much over by early to mid-June. He didn't even go to Hong Kong until August, if I remember correctly. Sure it may have been a topic of discussion while he was there, but he was not actually there during them. Just seemed incredibly silly that he kept trying to maintain the facade. He could've simply admitted he misremembered/misspoke (which he did sort of eventually do, only to immediately backpedal it and repeat the original claim again, to the moderator's confusion). It was an absolute softball of a question and he completely fumbled it.
