If I, with these views, am a bigoted enemy of the trans movement, then who are its allies? Do many of those who form this movement even want allies?

How long until he unironically starts calling the "trans movement" the "trans agenda"?

I fucking hate people who use movements as a shield for criticism. It's the ultimate Vaush/Destiny/Ryan Knight move.

Come on bro. Look bro. I do so much for the movement bro. How could you possibly expect to succeed without MY Twitch fanbase bro. If you're attacking me you're only attacking the movement bro.

Motherfuckers, this shit isn't about you. You are fucking deluded if you consider your incurious reactionary ass to be some sort of messiah. Dont trust anybody who spends more time promoting themselves than they do promoting revolution.

Listening to his linked 40 minute long video rant because I hate myself.

    So far it's been like

I'm probably in the 95th percentile of Trans acceptance... BUT

Paraphrasing because Glenn talks like he's filibustering CW: Transphobia, Bi-Phobia

    21:05

The question I have is whether there are other causes [meaning causes aside from increased societal acceptance] explaining this huge explosion of people claiming to identify as Bi and Trans. I know for a fact there are other causes.

    22:10

Our society encourages you to be trans... our cultural, mental health professionals, educators, and certain sectors encourage this behavior

    24:10

Why would people think it's bigoted to want to know [what influences] are increasing the number of trans people

    26:30

Most Bi-people aren't real because a high percentage of them are in relationships with the opposite sex... we should interrogate whether a high percentage of people reporting to be bisexual are genuinely bisexual

    30:20

Now more people identify as Trans than Lesbian. This has had an extremely negative effect on Lesbian culture. Cites Katie Herzog

    31:40

THEY'RE MAKING THE LESBIANS AND TOMBOYS TRANS

    36:10

I 'question' at what age people are capable of deciding to be Trans... we have the duty to ask this

    37:10

We need more scientific research into whether Trans-people should be allowed into women's sports

    38:10

People shouldn't be allowed to claim a non-binary identity if they don't "look" like it

    End

Why do people cal me Transphobic when I support trans people so much. The real bigots are the mobs attacking me.

      Why?

"I'm going to put every bi person on the witness stand until we get the TRUTH goddammit!"

      "You can't handle the truth!"

Glen failing basic high school statistics and mathematics yet again. There are simply much more people of the opposite sex to date, as most people still are straight, so of course bisexual people will end up in opposite sex relationships more often than not.

honesty that's even besides the point. Whether youre in a het or homo sexual relationship doesn't change any aspect of your bi-ness.

I am bi and I have been dating exclusively men for several years now. does that change my feelings of attraction? no.

As I said in my post. He us a libertarian with chud tier opinions. Basically all his leftist brownie points have come from his work stemming from his free speech absolutist beliefs. Because most genuine free speech problems stem from abuse of state power he happens to appeal to anti state leftists. This is entirely by accident.

Among the many bizarre aspects of this episode is that I am and long have been someone who resides on the far end of the spectrum when it comes to trans rights: in favor of full legal rights for trans people, in favor of honoring their gender identity, and opposed to efforts to malign or exclude them, so much so that, in the past, when attacked on the rare occasions that I discuss this issue, it is almost always from people who oppose the core tenets of trans rights, not from those who support them. If I, with these views, am a bigoted enemy of the trans movement, then who are its allies? Do many of those who form this movement even want allies?

Y'know, just a normal thing an 'ally' says about their allies.

So often it seems like they are more intent on insisting that those who perceive themselves as supporters are actually enemies due to the slightest deviations from the full panoply of dogma rather than persuading their actual enemies to become supporters

"Yeah u should be having civil discourse with the intent to convince and change the mind of the oppressive systems of the hegemony. Just walk up to the gears of capital and do a dialogue, duh

Tell capitalism it should stop oppressing you cause that's mean, that's all you gotta do, stop getting mad at me, an ALLY. Shut up and be thankful that I deigned to support you! "

    ...

    :agony-immense:

If normally anti-trans people disagree with me, but now the trans community is mad at me, I would re-examine what I said and ask questions from the community to understand what I did wrong.

Once I understood, I’d apologize and thank people for explaining to me.

That’s what you do if you unintentionally say something hurtful and legitimately want to be an “ally”.

The amusing thing about him invoking allies is actually, the majority of Americans who accept trans people don't engage with it outside of the level of tolerance and don't soak their brain in culture-war cortisol all day -- they have absolutely no clue what the decline of lesbian culture is or any of this other nonsense.

Like, if you ever feel down about transphobia -- 49% of Americans in 2019 said that society "doesn't do enough to accept trans people". Imagine the reaction from anti-idpolers if somebody said that online, they'd call them an out-of-touch lunatic!

Me at the beginning of the video: "OK Glen, maybe I read you uncharitably. Let's see what you have to say."

Narrator: She had not read him uncharitably.

ETA: Having listened to the whole thing now, I can't help but notice how many times he drew attention to the oppression of the BTQs as compared to the LGs. He seems, uh, very interested in protecting the turf, so to speak of the LGs. He didn't say "transtrenders," but that's pretty much what this whole thing is about. (And bitrenders too, if that's a word.) He pretty much just claims that the growth of people saying they're bi is down to people wanting to win the Oppression Olympics, and f to m trans people are just confused butch lesbians.

There's definitely a lot of political/social "trendism" that happens on Twitter (not that this applies to the gender and sexual identities of Twitter users), and Glenn is definitely very Twitter-brained. I find the website toxic and absolutely grating to browse (i do it anyway every once in a while), even when it comes to users and takes that I more or less "agree" with (and then there's dumb shit like this).
