I still maintain that we got banned not because they love chuds but because we were actually destabilizing the liberal base on that website.

I know r/politics mods were screeching at the admins to ban us. We would viciously attack moronic liberals in other subs. They built bots to try an contain us. That stupid chapo check bullshit and the chapo bot. We literally unified the left and it became an immediate threat.

Now look, the left is in disarray and subs like neoliberal and conservative have seen a massive swell in subscribers. Cause there just wasn’t any mitigating force there.

We basically became the Howard Beale of Reddit and subsequently suffered a similar fate.

Is it against the rules here to organize reddit raids on this website?

Because raiding some dipshit liberal post with the boys from chapo was unironically really fun. I want to do it again

A main character in the movie Network (came out in the early 70s, and still holds up). I’m going to nutshell it, but he’s basically the evening world news guy for a tv network, he basically snaps and just goes on these long rants every evening about how America is a crumbling shit heap and the powers that be could give a fuck less about us. His ratings go up and the network keeps pushing Beale to keep saying more provocative and some unhinged shit. He basically is then threatened by a true .0001%er (Ned Beatty is honestly fucking amazing in this roll) for stirring up to much shit, upsetting the order and now he will behave or be snuffed out.

Been a minute since I’ve seen the movie but I think that generalizes it. If you haven’t seen Network, I highly recommend it, it’s a fantastic piece of filmmaking

You can clearly see the trend of good posting (Chapo) to "Edgy humor" (me_irl and dankmemes) to mainstream shlock (memes, teenagers, pewdepe)

It honestly makes chuds go nuclear when they hear it too.

It and post hog pissed them off so bad. People forget since it’s been months removed but post hog was one of the most effective pieces of trolling against right wingers in over a decade.

I have no clue how many of them we got banned or caused them to rage quit Reddit but it was a lot

yeah but now its just another liberal own like cocaine mitch. Chapo was the new punk rock. We did it before it was cool. We had it on vinyl. We were the meme hipsters.

Hell yeah, I met a guy at a bus stop when I was arguing with friends, and he joined and he referred to his past self as a chud. He didn't even know about this sub or site. So it's been hitting the mainstream.

I actually felt like a lot of different memes originated on r/ChapoTrapHouse and then spread to the rest of the internet. I was wondering if that was my bias speaking because I posted there a lot but this indicates that I was right.

The assad "who must go" meme definitely gained traction on chapo, so did the girlboss drone strikes/obama drone strike related memes that have been circulating on tiktok, twitter and reddit ever since

While "post hog" didn't originate on CTH, and had been around quite awhile before that (I remember seeing one of the Chapos post it on Facebook in Virgil's right wing facebook infiltration vice article) I think CTH made it as big as it became cause Ive seen it on Twitter and Instagram before even

Post hog did originate on cth, though it may have originated independently elsewhere. It started when some weird chud came on the sub and ended up posting actual pictures of his penis. From that point on post hog became a standard reply to any outsiders who came to the sub.

Or maybe the phrase already existed and he just took the bait, causing it to become far more popular. I don't remember exactly.

Oh, I could have sworn it was in the vice article Virgil wrote when he, matt and some other people took over chud facebook groups, which predates the sub t. I could be wrong and frankly too lazy to go check. But for sure chapo spread that shit far and wide (heh)

Ah, the good old days. I got my reddit account banned for 3 days back in the heyday for commenting on an openly Nazi comment and telling him to post hog. Of course it could be counted as stalking considering I viewed his profile and commented on his most recent comment, but the fact that an outright Nazi wasn’t banned when he requested my ban speaks wonders to Reddit’s system

This is exactly what happened in discourse on other subs regarding Chapo, too. You'd be like, "We basically just made jokes about Stalin and stanned John Brown," and some smoothbrain below would be like:

List of 100000 times CTH broke Reddit ToS:

            • John Brown - advocating violence
            • Mao/Stalin did nothing wrong - genocide denialism
            • pinging users - harrasment
            • active in other political subreddits - brigading
            • post hog - soliciting child pornography

And people below would not ever even click the linked content and be like, "wow, horseshoe theory"

this is the kind of stuff they removed as justification, they were asked how these violated the TOS and never responded

Never saw this before but nothing that was said there was against TOS. That's fucking insane. Go to any gun sub and you can find people advocating legit violence to specific people/politicians. It's insane. Tons of other subs too, but the gun ones are also super fucking racist as well, which is on brand with mainstream gun culture.

They discussed races like they were AC models. They talked about getting rid of models that were clearly named after "jew" or the n-word.
