That looks like a recipe for a weekend spent laid up, too exhausted to change the sheets as occasional bouts of hot liquid shit splurt out the old ringpiece.

Yeah esp. In the US where salmonella from raw eggs is a thing, this is kinda stupid. Salmonella does not fuck around and if you're already ill from whatever intestinal parasites you got, it can kill.

Plus I'm pretty sure the Medicis had gotten the hang of cooking food.

When I was young, people would be doing stupid shit like this as a dare, or to gross people out. It's so weird to see it being used as a sorta political statement for whateverthefuck Woolworth's picknmix ideology this dipshit subscribes to.

Bet he complains about how everything's political these days too without an ounce of irony.

Fun food safe fact: botulism lives only on the outside of beef, which is why it’s perfectly safe to eat a blue rare steak.

Ground beef, on the other hand... 😬

In my country red meat is unacceptable and I hate seeing all the damn foreign cooking shows people eating raw meat in the inside "c'mon you can't enjoy that shit"

Reminds me of the reactistan videos on youtube with the Afghani or Pakistani villagers trying foreign foods. They're often saying that stuff is way undercooked and it'll be some taco meat or eggs or something.

Apparently if it isn't bone dry and blackened then it isn't cooked enough for them. Though, I do like some char marks on some flatbread...

We eat meat "juicy" but the juice is never red. Lot of foreigner say "your (cow) meat quality is incredible" and maybe that allow us to enjoy our coction points.

We also have THE most dangerous E.coli strain for uremic haemolitic syndrome (strain B-12 or something like that) with high prevalence (it's fucking everywhere in the cow butcher-shops/packing plants/slaughterhouses). So a badly cooked burger is a VIP ticket to a kidney transplant.

How the fuck does a Monke get milk and cream? I don’t think milking wild Auroch is that easy.

Isn't that the case with most animal proteins? I've heard theories that cooking meat may have been fundamental in developing larger brains for early humans. Any truth to that?

Also, what are the implications for the grill-centric ideology of contemporaneity

True for many things I guess. I don't know any more than you - I'm just looking it up:

Cooked items are often listed as having fewer calories than raw items, yet the process of cooking meat gelatinizes the collagen protein in meat, making it easier to chew and digest—so cooked meat has more calories than raw. ... The way foods are processed can also make them easier to digest. Take "resistant" starch in cereal kernels, such as barley grain, or beans, which take a long time to digest. But grind the same cereals into flour or process it into breakfast cereal or instant oatmeal, and it becomes easy to digest, said biochemist nutritionist Klaus Englyst of Englyst Carbohydrates Ltd., a carbohydrate chemistry firm in Southampton, U.K. This is why "bread is more rapidly digested; beans more slowly," he said. Source

I guess modern scientists are questioning the whole system behind current nutrition labels, which is simplistic and outdated.

Ever eat kernels of corn and see them in your shit? That's a whole grain that you ate, and we can see the result. Grind it into flour and your stomach acids digest it no problem

i'm not sure i'd call it new age. this people just think modernity made people (men, mostly) weak, so they do preformative shit to show how tough they are.

Ok I work a job where I'm neck deep in new age losers so here's my take: they have it figured out, they have secret knowledge. This knowledge has literally changed their dna. Common people, peasants should get in line and follow them to the glorious new world that would be possible if the true elite were allowed to lead. A lot of old new age shit like Rudolph Steiner, the theosophists, etc were into race science and the like. This stuff literally influenced the Nazis.

Seems like why any other type of religious/spiritual type would get drawn to fascism. Capitalism sucks the meaning out of most things in life, so you go searching for meaning in other ways. One of those ways is religion and spirituality, and another of those ways is a politics that's obsessed not with the mundane (taxes, education, jobs, etc.) but with the grandiose (larger-than-life leaders, a return to a mythical golden age, etc.).

Fascism has always been this way, Mussolini thought pasta was for soyboys and promoted rice as the manly food. Hitler thought meat was for soys and promoted Nazi beans.... soya beans
